Suffolk has completed construction of Building R as well as the community’s clubhouse addition and renovation at Moorings Park in Naples.
The clubhouse project includes a 48,408-square-foot addition of a Park Grill restaurant, board room, offices, porte-cochere and parking area. The renovations took place in the existing main dining room and grill room. The project included partial demolition of the existing clubhouse, renovation to portions of the existing clubhouse and an addition/expansion including a new porte-cochere.
“All work was completed in the midst of an active campus, and part of the existing clubhouse building remained occupied as construction took place,” said Rod Nobrega, project executive with Suffolk. We took great care to not disrupt the residents or staff.”
Nobrega added that in order for the construction to be as seamless as possible, Suffolk met daily with the Moorings Park staff to communicate the activities that would take place along the way and presented regularly at resident meetings. Any activities that created dust or noise were scheduled during off-hours when the dining facility and other clubhouse amenities were experiencing less traffic.
A focal point of the new clubhouse is the new porte-cochere, which includes a steel pyramid structure that serves as the centerpiece and roof. It was pre-fabricated off site, shipped in pieces, and then reconstructed atop the porte-cochere.
The 78,816-square-foot mid-rise residences at Building R are the newest addition to Moorings Park’s residential offerings and are in the center of the community with convenient access to numerous amenities.
Building R includes three floors over parking with 18 residences ranging from 2,219 to 3,325 square feet under air. Features include two- and three-bedroom open floor plans with large, wrap-around terraces on select floors, wet bars, eat-in kitchens, master suites with walk-in closets, master baths with enclosed water closets and dual vanities. Residents have the ability to personalize their units through Moorings Park Design Center.
Located at the corner of Goodlette-Frank Road North, south of Pine Ridge Road in Naples, the project is the continuation of a partnership between Moorings Park, Suffolk Construction, teaming partner Morton and Wasmer Builders, Perkins Eastman and BSSW Architects.
For more than 35 years, Moorings Park has served as the premier retirement community in Southwest Florida. Its 83 acres are home to 384 luxurious residences with access to upscale and casual dining, comprehensive physician services, fitness centers and engaging social activities.
Suffolk is a national building contractor with offices in Miami, West Palm Beach, Tampa, Estero, Dallas, Boston, New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego.
